Leonardo and CHC Helicopter agree new multiyear support and training framework programs for the operators' AW139 and AW189 helicopter fleet

Atlanta – Leonardo and CHC Helicopter, a global leader in delivering best-in-class helicopter services, have taken a further step forward to strengthen their long-established relationship by signing two multiyear global framework agreements for AW139 fleet support and AW139 and AW189 training services respectively.
Leonardo and Heli-One Five-Year Framework Agreement
Under a five-year support agreement, Leonardo will deliver logistics and technical support to CHC’s Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (‘MRO’) business, Heli-One, as well as spare parts, to support CHC’s AW139 fleet across all geographies, leveraging Leonardo’s logistics centres based in Brazil and Australia, among others. CHC’s fleet includes a total of 42 Leonardo aircraft, in a mix of AW139 intermediate twins and AW189 super medium helicopters.
The support agreement includes customized service plans to enhance and rationalize an existing PBH (power-by-the-hour) scheme, as well as facilitate the potential introduction of new helicopters and their redeployment across regions, adapting to CHC’s evolving operational requirements. Heli-One will also benefit from access to supporting engineering services from Leonardo.
Leonardo and CHC Worldwide Training Framework Agreement
A second five-year global framework agreement has also been agreed to provide CHC with access to Leonardo Training Academies, as well as its global network of simulators, to support AW139 and AW189 crew training – with several thousand flight hours envisaged for both models.
These latest framework agreements demonstrate both parties’ commitment to enhancing operational performance, quality, safety and sustainability, while maximizing the benefits of the latest technology. As the AW139 and AW189 continue to expand their capabilities for a growing global customer base, these agreements help ensure those benefits are fully realized.
